The proposal seeks to re- establish the water’s edge in a manner that describes the dynamic relationship of the land and the Mississippi river. the various strategies to control flooding have translated the natural horizontal tendency of the river into a dramatic up and down movement along the man-made embankment. This project recognizes the vertical fluctuation of the river as a spectacle – a play between the natural and the man made and uses this as a critical element to design the ferry terminal.
